The Brass Herald‘s new February, 2017 issue continues a series started in December, 2015. Titled “Ladies of Brass,” the February publication features the trombone section of the Monarch brass on its cover. The 92-page magazine also includes a five-page interview with virtuoso tubist Joanna Ross Hersey and content written by the Monarch Brass, the IWBC, the Seraph Brass, and Amy Schumaker Bliss, and Mary Galime (of the Alliance Brass).

The Brass Herald, according to its website, is “a publication for all brass musicians. The magazine is published in February, May, August, October and December and contains articles by perhaps the most authoritative team of writers in the world of brass.” The magazine, edited by Phillip Biggs, discusses all aspects of brass playing and is printed in full color.

The original, 2015 “Ladies of Brass” issue featured “six of the world’s finest lady trumpet players from the USA; Carrie Schafer, Amy McCabe, Karin Bliznik, Marie Speziale, Carole Reinhart and Susan Slaughter” on its cover.
